of Farmville, the ceremony being
performed by the pastor of the bride,
Rev. W. A. Marshall, of the Tennille
Baptist church, and witnessed by only
members of .the immediate family.
The bride was attired in a navy
blue traveling costume with matching
accessories, and her shoulder corsage
was of pink rosebuds.
Following the ceremony a buffet
luncheon was served in the home of
the bride's brother, where the cere*
many was performed, at which a
number of friends were in attend
ance, including several from Ameri
cas and Atlanta, Ga,
Mrs. Moore, daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Boatright, and a
popular member of the Farxwville
high school faculty, teaching Latin
and French here for the past several
years, received her education at Bes
sie lift College, Forsyth, Ga.
Mr. Moore is one of Pitt county's
most successful young farmers.;: He

luncheon on Tuesday morning at her

score prize, a dainty handkerchief.
A course luncheon was served at
the noon hour by the hostess, as
sisted by her daughter, Miss Helen,

The Woman's Club met Friday at
the home of Mrs. J. B. Joyner and
Mitm Bettie Joyner, made lovely with
quantities of garden flowers, with
Mrs. A. Q. Roebuck presiding, giving
an outline of the work during two
successful years of her leadership
and presenting the gavel to Mrs.
D. R. Morgan, newly elected presi
dent, who talked briefly of her plans
for the new club year, which will
begin in September. Mrs. J. M.
Hobgood, who led the movement and
helped organize the club, serving as
its first president, was made honor
ary president at this time.
The business session was the oc
casion for the election of other of
ficers, resulting as follows: 1st vice
president, Mrs. I. E. Satterfield; 2nd
vice president, Miss Annie Perkins;

day afternoon, at the home of Mrs.
J. W. Joyner with the president,
Miss DeVisconti presiding.
After the reading of the minutes
and roll call, Miss DeVisconti urged
the members to vote against the
whiskey evil in the coming election
on July 6. It was moved and second
ed that the program committee de
cide on the program for the next
year and have them ready for the
September meeting.
A telegram sent by this club to
Senator Bailey and Reynolds urging
them to vote to defeat the Clark
Amendment was read.
The program, Law Observance,
was ably discussed by Mrs. J. B.
