Guests were received as they ar rived by Mrs. J. W. Parker and Mrs. B. S. Smith, and were introduced to the first receiving line by Miss An nie Perkins. This line, formed in the west living room. Was composed of the hostesses, the honoree, Mrs. Grif fin, Miss Martha Cheatham, of Wil son, Mrs. Winston Smith, of Opelika, Ala., and Miss Marguerite Johnson, of Columbia, S. Leaving the second line guests were greeted at the dining room door by Mrs. P. E. Jones, Mrs. R. H. Knott and Mrs. John T. Thorne. A profusion of gladdioli was used throughout the home in tall contain ers, with contrasting and harmoniz ing shades being observed in arrange ments in the various rooms. In the dining room, a red and white color note prevailed. JVhite candles in silver candelabra cast a soft glow over the table, which was spread with a Venetian lace cloth and centered with American Beauty roses in a sil ver vase. Mrs. Plato Monk of Wil son and Mrs. C. R. Townsend served ices molded in white rose design from either end of the table, and cakes and mints were passed by Misses Hazel Bass, Bertha Lang, Frances Joyner, Buth Hayes Turnage, Nita Lee Townsend and Meta King Moore. The bride and bridegroom entered together from the dining room and' took their places before the impro vised altar, where the Rev. Isaae Wyne Hughes, rector of the Holy In nneenta Eniscooal Church, heard their ! vows, using the ring ceremony. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Franeis E. Satterwhite. The bride was costumed in a drese of dusty pink embroidered marqui sette over taffeta, with a lace hat to match. Her shoea were a contrasting purple. She wore as a shoulder cor sage a single orchid. Immediately following the cere mony the bridal party and guests were entertained at an informal re ception At one end of the table .was a lovely wedding cake, which was ser ved to the guests by Mrs. T.' For traveling the bride wore an ensemble of light, beige al paca and douennet accessories. Mrs. Stegal! is the daughter of Frands E. Satterwhite and ttte late Mrs. Satterwhite of Henderson. She is a graduate of East Carolina Teach ers' College, Greenville* After grad uation she taught in the high school at Jamesville, and for the past two years has been ^ member of the fac ulty of Morven High School Mr. Steagail is the son of Mrs. (Catherine McRae and the late W- A.
