BARCLAY AT CHRISTIAN CHURCH HERE NEXT WEEK We are glad to announce to all our friends that we have secured the ser vices of "Captain John Barclay" to lead us in a meeting next week. The services begin each evening at 7:30, and the public is cordially injjted. Yon cannot give the ??oft! excuse, "Busy", for the markets are closed and there is no cotton to pick. So come and enjoy thesajfine messages. Mr. Barclay, or "Captain John," as he is commonly known, having been a Captain "over there" in the last World War, ia pastor of the Christian Church in Wilson, where he has served for ten years. He is active in all civic, school and Chris tian work. Mr. Barclay is" a gradu ate of Transylvania University, Lexington, Ky., and also of Colom bia. He has recently returned from an eleven weeks torn!* -of France, Germany and Russia. Meetings begin Sunday at eleven o'clods mid- continues through the next Sunday. Pierce delightfully en tertained at a bridge series on Thurs day, with members of the Progressive Bridge Club playing in the afternoon, and a number of other friends in the everfhg. Fall flowers were artisti cally arranged throughout the Pierce Home on Pine Street. The high score prize for the after noon, cellophane dish oovers, was p by Mrs. M. V.
