Mr. and Mrs. Eric Co pel and of Durham and Captain Lealie Newman of New River 'Marine Base were week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Eagles and Mrs. Leslie Newman. Earl Ellis left Wednesday for Fort Bragg where he was inducted in the army. Mrs. Jimmy Sutton is recuperating in a Richmond Hospital from an eye operation performed Monday. According to reports from the hospital the operation was successful and she will probably be able to return home Sunday. P. T. A. GARDEN PROJECT NOTICE FOR PAROLE Misinformed - regarding acreage and helpers of the P. T. A. Garden Project referred to in our last issue, the Enterprise gladly gives space to the following letter in connection: "To my friends and sponsore of the Farmville P. T. A Garden project—The last issue of the Farmville Enterprise wave credit for a 15 acre garden plot in the P. T. A. garden project this year. Our garden is not that large. We have A acre on South Main street; .4 acre on W. Church street; 2 acres on W. Hinee street; 6 acres on Pine street; 2.8 acres Perry street, making a total of 11.8 acres. "In our garden we now have 2.3 acres of lima beans from which I am expecting to gather some over a hundred bushels of beans within the next ten days; 8,000 heads of cabbage col lards; 6,000 hills of sweet potatoes that should yield over a hundred bushels of potatoes. Wc have pulled and saved 200 bundles of fodder since conning the corn from the stalk. "1 had only one helper, instead of eight, until June 1. We have had a very unfavorable spring and summer for our garden crop. It has been a pleasure to work for and with Mrs. Mattie Hooker, county supervisor, the P. T. A. and sponaers of this project and I have tried my best to plant and cultivate~a "garden that you would be proud of.
