Farrington received his commissidn as 2nd lieutenant in the Coast Artillery Corps upon successfully completing the officer candidate course at the Anti-aircraft Artillery School, Camp Davis, N. BIRD CLUB The members of the Bird Club went on a hike, Saturday, each one taking lunch which was enjoyed on the lawn of Mr. wad Mrs. Jesse Moye, near town. Girnes were played and Mns. Mary Jerorit Simons told stories about a Cardinal and an Owl. She offered a first prise of one dollar and a second prise of fifty cents to the member who makes the best bird feeder by August fifteenth. CHARLIE R. BRYANT Funeral serricee for Charlie R. Bryant, who died suddenly from a heart attack, at his home in Saratoga, Sunday evening, were heM from the home Monday. Interment was in the Wilson Cemetery. Surviving are two brothers and two sisters: Russell and Albert Bryant, and Mias Ollie Bryant, all of Saratoga, and Mrs. F. M. Davis, Sr., of Farmville.
