' • • • . A number of R. A. Boys at the Baptist Church will attend a Conclave of the Royal Ambassadors at the Rocky Mount District, which is of the occasion. MASONS TO HAVB "LAMBS' NIGHT" The Fannville Masonic Lodge will have their annual "Ladies' Night" on Friday, November 12th, at the Fannville Country Club. "KID PARTY" Among attractive parties enjoyed by lite younger set recently was a "Kid Party" given by Misses Vivian Scott and Betsy Jones at the home of the former. Stuffed animals and other appropriate toys decorated the living-room. Coatome prizes were won by Miss Betsy Monies and Dan Morgan. BqtTH ANNOUNCEMENTS Va., THE JUNIOR WOMAN'S CLUB held «a interesting meeting on Tuesday evening in the home of Mrs. Alex Allen which was decorated with lovely chrysanthemums in shades of p*ril and burgundy. The president, Mrs. Mabry Pollard, presided and urged each member to continue buying war^ stamps and bonds and to aid in any type of war work possible. The Club voted to send a check for twelve dollars to the Senjor Club for the Librarian Salary Fund. Mrs. John ButterfleM announced that a room has been secured in the School Building to be used as a store-room for used clothing and articles which may be distributed when needed. The Club will serve as contact between would-be Waves and Recruiting Officer. Mrs. J. W. Munden will establish contact and Miss Margaret Smith will be publicity chairman. Mrs. C. S. Hotchkiss gave a report from the Clubwoman Magastne. Mrs. R. T. Williams was assisted by Mrs. a T. Lewis, in presenting the program which included an In* teresting talk on the origin and customs of Halloween and a number of contests, in which prises were won by Mrs. Jesse Moye, Mrs. Butterfield and Mrs. Frank Allen. The hostess served a sweet course with coffee. THE CONTRACT CLUB met with Mrs. Wesley R. Willis on Tuesday afternoon, with two tables at play. Hubert Joyner won the . high score BAPTIST YOUNG PEOPLE The Junior Intermediates of the Baptist Church and a number at their friends enjoyed an evening of fun arranged for them by their leader, Miss Marjorie Parker and their sponsor, Arthur Joyner, Jr., on Friday eveningTwenty attended and refreshments were cocfr-colas and cookies. On Saturday evening fifteen young folks of tile Baptist Church, who as members at the pastor's "Go To Church Chib" didn't miss over four services daring the put fifteen weeks, were entertained at a Halloween party by Mr. and Mrs. Chamblee. Guests were Cedrie Davis, Gerald Davis, Videau Joyner,j/Seleta Tucker, Robert Everett Roebuck, James Thorne, Lola Grey Kemp, Mary Ann Eason, Peggy Eason, Dotdee Jones, Wilbur Morris, Shirley Newton, Ruth Tyson, Carl Creecli and Jimmie Chamblee, and all came jn costume. The prise for the most original costume went to Jame« Thorns who came as an old man complete with long beard and a humj on his back. In an apple eating contest, Oedric, Davis and Videau Joy ner won prise*. A number of otfiei games were enjoyed. The hostess' mother showed movies of Mickey Mouse. The Circus, Little Black Sambo, ; and Donald Duck. The Baptist State Convention of North Carolina will convene at the First Baptist Church in WinstonSalem November 16-18. Mr. and Mrs. John W. Holmes, Mr. and Mia, George W. Davis and Bee. £. C.
