Glick, world famous seed grower of Smoketown, Pa. Glide recently made a tour of the Glades and East Coast sections of Florida where he studied the late blight situ ation which has become so serious. "Last season we had several new tyfjws of tomatoes growing on our farms whiek qhowed special promise in this directions-immunity to the late blight fungus," Glick said, "and these have been developed by plant specialists." He indicated that the immune type of tomato might be announced at any time during 1947. Up to that time, rust had threatened to wipe out the tomato industry in Florida and other states.
