Activities Of Local Church Organizations Christian Mrs. C. A. LiHey, new chairman of Group 1, was Hostess to this group Monday evening with six members and one visitor present. . Mrs. Lee Corbett was devotional leader arid the chairman directed the discussion of “Hidden Answers.” The members voted to meet Tues day evenings for the rest of the year. Ice cream, cookies and nuts were served. / Mrs. T. R. Mizelle was appointed secretary of Group 2 at its meeting in the home of Mrs. C. L. Ivey, S£r., Tuesday evening. The chairman, Mrs. Ted Albritton, announced that the Woman’s council meeting had been postponed until July 12 and that the council met the requirements for the honor roll last year . 1 “The Kingdom First” was the devo tional topic developed by Mrs. Albrit ton. After a prayer, “Hidden An swers” were discussed f Following the miasl tion, ice cream, cookies passed to IS members. Group 3 met with Mrs. Arch Flan agan, chairman, who presided over the business session. A responsive reading on “Using Our Gifts," based on Matthew, was led by Mrs. Blanche Paschall. The “Hidden Answers” were read by Mrs. Z. B. T. Cox. Mrs. Matthew Dail was named re porter. Lemon sherbet and cookies were .served. ' '. Minn Elizabeth Moore gave the de votional at Group 4 which met Tues day evening with Mrs. R. E. Pickett with Mrs. George Allen as joint hos tess. ' The new chairman, Mrs. Archie Cayton, was in charge of the pro gram. Named to the membership committee were Mrs. David T. Harris and Mrs. Pickett. ' The ten members and one guest, Mrs. Walter Hobgood, were served refreshments consisting of angel cake topped with cream and nuts. Free Will Baptist s. The Free Will Baptist prayer ser vice will be held inJthe home of Allen J. Baker, Friday night, July 2. Every body is invited. The Episcopal Altar guild met with the directress, Mrs. John D. Dixon, Tuesday evening. - Miss Vivian Scott was welcomed as a new member. “Blessed Book Agents,” taken from “Every Man’s Book,” mid a chapter of “Some Common Sense Reasons Why” were studied. A social hour was held after ad journment. CIRCLE MEETING POSTPONED The Annie Perkins circle of the Baptist Missionary society has post poned its July 6 meeting until the fol lowing Monday. The other faculty members were from the community. Members of the auxiliary served refreshments each afternoon. At the close of classes on Friday afternoon, the children were taken to the Farmville park where they en , joyed swimming in the pool and later | they were served a picnic supper.
