Change Banda at a Stnpea dona Considerstian — Mining Experts Declare the Section Fabslnnsty tick In Ore. Charlotte Obfimr. Spartanburg. S. C., June. 4.— The Carolina Tin and Develop ment Company, which owns thousands of prospective mining landa in Cherokee county, has transferred 3.000 ecres of its property to the United States Steel Company at a stupendous consideration, the exact figures of which cannot be ascertained. The former company, however, retained a considerable amount of the original landa. The pur chasing concern is capitalised at 3200,000,000 and will, it is un derstood, commence developing its newly acquired landa within the next thirty days. Expert mining engineers have been no tified to report at Gaffney at once, and the bidden wealth of that acctiou will be re ealed to the world soon. The residents of the section between Bessemer City, N. C., and Gaffney, S. C., have conceived a erase for tin and iron hooting that bids fair to ccNpae any industrial and commercial fever that has ever struck this section of the coun try. Reliable mining experts hsve expressed the opinion that the territory lying between the placet mentioned has every in dication of being capable of be ing worked to an extent far in excess of any other section of the country.
