Cannon (oee Coatner) an annt of Mr. P. A Coatner, of Gastonia, died al tbe age of 75 years, seven months sod 15 days. She war born April 28, 1831, and war married Nov. 4. 1849, to Mr. James P. Cannon, wht> survives her. Mr. Cannon is now des perately ill with pneumonia at his home. To this union tbera were bom ten children, five sons and five daughters, three of the former and three of tbe latter beiog dead. The deceased was baptised in the Lutheran church in infancy, catechised and confirmed a member of the Lutheran church at tbe age' of 17 years. She was a devoted and faithful member of tbe chnrch. Eleven years ago last June Mrs. Can non was stricken with paralysis and daring these years she lay helpless upon her bed but com plained not. With a spirit of Christian resignation she awaited tbs final summons of God to quit the sufferings of the body and enter into rest. Guy, of Ports mouth, Vs., traveling salesman for the Hayuer Manufacturing Company, of Norfolk, was one of those who sustained slight injuries in the collision between Noe. 38 and 39 at LoireII Satur day morning. Mr. Guy sus tained a sprained leg which, be says, renders him incapable of work for the |>reseut and he was in Gastonia yesterday to effect e settlemAt, if possible, with the railroad for damages. He went to Grier's, S. C., and spent Sunday, returning here yesterday en route to his home at Portsmouth. 0 Christmas Waddings. Robinson, will be married at the home of the bride's parents near Pleasant Ridge, December 28th. Mias Lola Robinson, daughter of Mrs. M. M. Robinson, and Mr. Will Glenn, son* of Mr. and Mrs. Newton Glenn, will be married at the home of the bride’s moth er near Pleasant Ridge, Decem ber 24th.
