Taylor Glenn, a prominent citi.en of the Union neighborhood, died at her home yesterday afternoon at 5 o'clock, having suffered a stroke of paralyn'K sometime ago, from which she never recovered. Mrs -Glenn ww a tstet of Mesrs. J. H. and Robert Craig, of Gastonia, and an aunt of Mrs. J. D.. Moore, and Mrs. A. M. Smyre, of Gastonia; J. R Lewis and Mrs. John Durham, of Dallas The funeral services were condocted bv Kev. G. A- Sparrow at It o'clock this morning at - Union church, and the remains laid to rest in Union cemetery. The first settlement was at Craig's Ferry in 1769. The first town established was Dallas in 1840. The first sheriff was Benjamin Morris in 1847. The first Chrk of the court was J;'mes Quinn in 1847. The first register of deeds was James Ferguson in 1847. The first su'veyor was W. F. Holland in 1847. The first newspaper was The Gastonia Enterprise established in 1877..-. '.
