If the inland waterways project is not pushed through to a successful finish It will not be the fault of Mr. Small. He secured the appropriation for the work being done in North Carolina and is now going after an appropria tion to complete this work. Congress appropriated $550,000 for the Beau fort end of the waterway and the work on this Is nearlng completion. An appropriation of $1,500,000 is needed to complete the work to Nor folk and Mr. Small is urging on the house committee on rivers and har bors that this appropriation be made at once so as not to delay the work The section nearlng completion will permit the entrance of vessels with a draft of ten feet from the ocean to the Inland waters of the State. From Norfolk, however, the entrance to these waters is less than eight feet and the securing of a continuous ten- foot passage Is an important matter. There are several objections in the way of an appropriation at this time, but Mr. Small is a resourceful man and he may be able to get the matter through. WHAT EVERY WOMANLY WO MAN WANTS.
