Hardin, pastor of St. Clark's Episcopal church, who has bad under consideration for some weeks a call to Grace church, An derson, S. C, has decided to decline the call and remain in hi3 present pastorate. The news of this decision on the part of Rev. .Mr. Hardin will be gratifying not only to the mem bers of St. Mark s, but to Mr. Har din's many friends of all denomina tions, who would have greatly re gretted his departure to another field of work. A pretty home wedding was cele brated last Sunday morning, when Miss Hattie Led ford, the attractive daughter of 'Mr. and Mrs. John Led ford and Mr. Ralph Thompson, a popular young man of this commun ity, were married at the home of the bride's parents. Esquire T. M. Fos ter performed the ceremony. Miss Hattie Hoyle and Curtis Boyles, Miss Emma Led ford and Doras Leonhardt acted as attend ants. Mr. Thompson is a Bon of the late Dr. Sam P. Thompson. Mr. Hagood Resigns. Kings Mountain Herald, 3rd. Mr. L. R. Hagood who has been for the past two years secretary and treasurer of the Lula Manufacturing Company, has resigned that position and has been relieved by 'Mr. D. M. Baker of this place. Mr. Baker took charge of the company's offices Tuesday morning and will fulfill the duties of secretary and treasurer un til Mr. Hagood's successor is elected. Cornwell, civil en gineer, of Dallas, was in town yes terday getting ready to make a pre liminary survey of the site for the proposed septic tank at the sewer outlet on the city farm south of town. The contract for this survey, the making of plans and specifica tions was let by the city to the firm of Solomon Norcross & Co., of At lanta, Ga., and Mr. Cornwell is doing this work for that firm. When the survey is completed, together with the plans and specifications, it will be submitted, as required by law, to the State Board of Health for ap proval.
