Audience Highly Plea.srd With Entertainment Given Satur day Night by Home Orchestra Npeeial Mention of Some Selec tions. Correspondence of The Gazette. LOWELL. March 29. The Low ell Orchestra, composed of nine pieces of real musical talent, play ed v to a large house here Saturday night and the lovers of music and of a high-class entertainment are loud in their praise of the manage ment and each member of the or chestra. The following numbers were es pecially enjoyed by the audience: Selection, William Tell; Night ingale's Song from La Tyroliene; trombone solo, "Rocked in the Cra dle of the Deep," Mr. Claud Wilson, rendering this piece to perfection; the soft notes of this peice brought the aud ience to their feet with hearty cheers; overtures, "Evening Slum bers;" comet solo, "Love's Old Sweet Song"; cornet solo by Mrs. Palmer Titman, this peice seeming to reach the pinnacle of musical per fection and to open the windows of the music heaven and cause the weary-worn soul to loose its hold upon the weary things of a troubled life and to look with renewed hope into a brighter future. The violin solos by Miss Lillian Atkins were the most captivating pieces af the entertainment. Those old Southern melodies, "Dixie," "My Old Kentucky Home," and "Listen to the Mocking Bird," brought the house to an uproar of ap plause and Miss Atkins was recall ed time and again; and, to add sweetness to the mellow strains of her violin, the piano accompani ments were played by Miss Bertha Long in a most artistic manner. The Lowell Orchestra, composed of home talent, each member doing his full part to make it the equal in every way to the higher-priced or chestras, along with the manager, Mr. J. M. Wilson, deserves the hearty co-operation and good willoj WhitGoods Under Price 36 inch Long Cloth, 10c value 36 inch Pajama Checks, 12 l-2c value 25c Luna Lawns Remnants Many special values if you will come and let us show you 8 l-2c 10c 10c J.
