The general opinion one heard expressed of the "game" was that it was Just about as "bum" as it possibly could have been. 4ld Mau Pritchard, who is serving a sentence on" the county chain gang for homicide committed in Caldwell county, Is confined at the City Hospital where an operation was performed to remove a diseased eyeball. Pritchard has been on the county gang for the past seven months. He Is fifty-two years old. Mr. Robert E. Currence spent Sunday at Clover on the sad mission of attending the funeral of his mother, Mrs. J. F. Currence, an ac count of whose death Saturday night will be found In our Clover letter. Mr. Currence has the sin cere sympathy of a large number of friends In his sad bereavement. Yesterday's Concord Times says: "Mr. Fletcher Fink, who for several years has been chief clerk in the office of the American Telephone and Telegraph Co., at Charlotte, has been promoted to the position of cashier in the general offices of this company in Atlanta. He will leave Tuesday to 'begin his new duties." Rev. George D. Smith, No. 707 west Main avenue, near the Trenton Mill, died Sunday evening at 6 o'clock and was buried in Oalrwood Cemetery yesterday afternoon following fun eral services conducted at the home by Rev.
