Forty-nine acres of land, part of the Jacob Rhyne place lying on the west side of the York road, two miles south of Gastonia, was sold this week to Mr. W. T. Rankin and brought a good price. This is said to be one of the best pieces of timbered land anywhere near Gas tonia. -"Mr. W. B. Hunter left Wednes day night for Philadelphia to re sume his studies in the medical de partment of the University of Pen- sylvania.
