Adams, of Gastonia, spent a day last week at Westminster School, Rutherford county. They were guests in the evening at a dinner given by the principal, Rev. J. K Hall, at which the faculty and oth ers were present. They found this school, which is under the direction of the Presbytery, in a most flour Ishing condition. A handsome 24 room dormitory has just been com pleted and Is now ready for occu pancy. A splendid water-works system is being Installed which will furnish water to all the buildings The water is obtained from a bold spring from which it is conducted into a splendidly constructed con Crete reservoir. Gaston county ed in the student body, there being 23 from this county enrolled this year. Meeting Closes. The protracted meeting which had been in progress at the Loray Pres byterian church for a week closed Sunday night and Rev. M. McG. Shields, who did the preaching, left yesterday morning for his home in ureensboro. The meeting was a success and the religious life of the community was greatly strengthend by it. There were about twenty professions, of faith. After the holi days iMr. Shields will go to Cleve land, N. C, to conduct a meeting, He has charge of the home mission work of the North Carolina Synod and the year ending October 31st was one of the best in the synod's history from the standpoint of home missions.
