According to the records In the office of Register of Deeds A. J. Smith at the court house the year ending December 1, 1913, snowea a considerable falling off in the num ber of marriage licenses Issued m this county. The number Is 360 as against 414 for the previous year. That was, however, the banner year in the county's history and this year ranks second A6ked for an expla nation of this decrease in the num ber of young couples wishing to he married, Mr. Smith said It was probably attributable to the hign cost of living. In fact, however, un der the more stringent regulations regulating the Issuance of marriage licenses, Mr. Smith has, during the year, refnled more licenses tnan during any previous year. The num ber turned down, If Issued, would have made this year's record exceed that of last year. The Progressive Parmer and The i Gazette both for one year, for $2.00. 4 Subscribe today.
