One farmer said it meant: "Quit plant ing cotton,." By no means. It sig nifies simply "Raise first what food you will need for your family and your livestock; then give the rest of your land to cash crops." Now. These are a few of t lie things we want to do. A few of the things that we can do with your co operation. But without the co-oper ation of every man in every town ship of the county it will be impos sible to make this movement a suc cess. We are pioneers in the South. No county in any State of the South land has attempted the organization of a great, strong, democratic body that shall work for all the interests of all the people. 11 the time, tn Massachusetts. Illinois, and In cer tain States of the Middle West sim ilar organizations exist. They have done great ork. We, with our infinitely superior natural advantages, can do what they have done; and much more To do so we must have a first class organization with an adequate income and a sound, practical pur pose. I have discussed the matter with many of our leading citizens from every township and I find them in hearty agreement with me. Gaston has always been one or the leading counties of th.e South. In undertaking this work we must demonstrate the progresslveness and energy that has ever characterized the people of the county. Beginning this week one or more meetings will be held in every town ship of the county. You will receive due notice of this meeting and are cordially Invited and earnestly urg ed to attend.
