City School Department The printers are going to think that we have a very fine attendance. Printers find proper names hard to set up. .For this reason the schoots appreciate very much the apace giv en to the Honor Rolls by the papers of the city. Wonder if the patrons give a like appreciation! : ? , 'The schools enjoyed the visit or the fine body ofwomen forming the Convention of the United Daughters of N. C. They were an Inspiration to the schools and from some 1 of their words of admiration it seems that cthe schools were somewhat of an inspiration to them. , It Is the ambition of the superin tendent and the excellent faculty to make the schools meet the needs of the people in such a way that every -citizen will point to the schools and visit them with just pride. - Raymond Ratchford, one of- our boys now a Senior at Davidson Col lege, paid us a visit Monday. Any school could well be proud of such a record as Raymond Is making at Da vidson. Last year he won a medal in debate and one in essay writing. . He has made a record of reliability that secured for him a place as as ' aistant to the professor of English. He helps only in the filing of the pa pers of the department. But this Is a place that means much to the fort unate student. .The .best wishes of Gastonla schools are ywith Raymond. -Below Is a list ofthe pupils who were neither absent nor tardy during the first 21 days of this year.. In such a list from so many rooms occasion ally there will be mistakes or omis sions. 'These will be looked Into gladly if called to the attention or the teacher or the office, .
