At th last meeting of the Women's Cine League held at the farm life school Thursday afternoon a large crowd o: ladies were present, notice having been posted on the league's bulletin boards that Miss Thompson was to have a practical demonstration at this meeting. The first number on the program was the giving of tne recipes for prize cakes and Boston cookies. Miss Thompson next mixed the cookies and while they were bak ing, she very beautifully decorated large cake which had been baked by a dudII of the eleventh grade. Tbe decorations were most artistic and gave a timely hint to the housewives for the beautifying of their Christ mas cakes. The last part of the les- Bon was on tbe making of candles On the plates of candy exhibited there were chocolate creams, stuffeci cherries, raisins with cream nllingb bon-bons, coffee creams and many other kinds. By the time the de monstration ended the members or the league were enthusiastically fill ed with a desire to make all their Christmas candies. Slices of the prize cake were handed round, and the Boston cookies baked during the meeting were also enjoyed by every one. It is seldom that such an opportu nitv comes to housekeepers to have the privilege of attending demon strations of this kind to illustrate the differences between making cook ing an art or of thinking of It as simnlv a drudxerv. The league la very much indebted to Miss Thomp son" for these delightful meetings.
