West Virginia's peach crop this year will be the largest in the history of the State. Boy Scouts have come forward to help in the labor scarci ty. County Demonstration Agent J. M. Gray has sent out a circular let ter announcing dates of farmers' meetings to be held in the county during the remainder of this month. Following are . the dates 'for next week: Landers Chapel Tuesday, July 17; Mt. Olivet, 18th; Union, 19th; Pisgah, 20th; (Panhandle, 21. Dates of later meetings will be pub lished in The Gazette next week. All meetings will begin at 10 o'clock tn the morning in the school-house, and picnic dinner will be served at noon. The program at each meeting will include subjects of Interest to farm women as well as to the men. lh Ray Commissioned. Dr. Ralph Ray, of Gastonia, was on Wednesday commissioned by Govern or Bickett as a first lieutenant in the dental corps of the X. C. National Guard. Two other dentists, Dr. .las. X. Sturdlvant. of Canton, and Dr. Thomas L. Spoon, of Gibsonville. were commissioned at the same time. These appointments were made ow ing to the Increase in the Xational Guard and were authorized by tn government. Dr. Ray passed tn necessary examinations some Ulm ago, and will enter upon his duties as soon as the guards are called into Federal service. The'X. C. X. G. now has six dentists in the service. Mrs. W. H. Falls and Miss Mar garet Pursley, of Pleasant Ridge, are visitors to Gastonia today. Rev. W. L. C. Killlan. who is still a patient at the Charlotte San atorium, is reported as making steady improvement, although it will probably be a week or more be fore he is able to return home. John Welsh, manager of a local paper company, has invented a process whereby he says waste paper can be reclaimed and made into newsprint paper. Mr. Welsh states that by his pro cess all waste paper can be resolved into fresh paper as often as brought back to the mill. The paper is of a bluish-gray-color and Is said to have a greater strengtn than ordinary newsprint. All friends of the family are invited to come and bring well-filled dinner baskets. . - N. C. Phone 66 KIDXAPPED 19 YEARS AGO, F1XIW MOTHKR. (By International News Service.) PORTLAND, Ore., July 12. Ralpn Stewart, nineteen years old, of this city, kidnapped by his father' when one month old, and who had lost all trace of his mother since that time, has been restored to his mother's arms' after years of searching. . Young Stewart was taken from his cradle shortly after he was born and placed in a public house by his fatSer His mother was ill at the time, and when she recovered she could find no trace of her baby. As the boy grew older he learned the story of his early childhood and started a search for his mother. The search was conducted from the office of the Juvenile Court here un der the direction of William Spencer Stewart brought his story to Spencer, several years ago and at that time a picture of the boy and his story were published in a Portland paper. This brought the first clue to the long-Iosi parent. k. C Carson, of Seattle, who read the story, remembered the facts and communicated with Portland, and through his friends, who had been ac quainted with the boy 8 mother years before, the woman was traced to the little town of Rockport, Wasn. ihe mother s name is now Mrs. F. j.
