Notice is hereby given that, in accord ance with action of the board of county commissioners, taken on Monday, May o, 191!, upon petition of the county board of education, an election will be held on Saturday, June 7, 1919 in School District No. 1, River Bend township, in Gaston county, which school district embraces the incorporated town of Stanley, to ascertain whether the vot ers of said school district are in favor of issuing bonds in the sum of ten thousand dollars ($10,000), (tearing interest at the rate of six per centum per annum, paya ble semi-annually, said bonds to run for a term of twenty (20; years, for the pur pose of building a school house ami fur nishing the same with suitable equipment. The maximum tax to be levied in said dis trict to pay the interest on said bonds and to create a sinking fund for the pur pose of paying the interest and principal of said tonds to be fifty (50) cents on each one hundred dollars valuation of property and ninety (90) cents on each polL Said election will beheld during legal hours and under the regulations prescrib ed by law for the holding of regular elections.
