At the Central school auditorium at S:;i() tonight the pupils of Miss Mabel Little, constituting the Little Musicians' Club, will give their closing recital. The public is cordially invited. ENJOYED CAMP-FIRE SUPPER AT ARMSTRONG PARK. The members of the graduating class of the Gastonia high school, seventeen in number, were the guests' of the teachers of the high school last Thursday evening at a camp-fire supper at Armstrong Park. Supper consisting of breakfast bacon, eggs, cheese, fried potatoes, candy, cake and ice cream, was prepared and served on the ground and was thoroughly enjoy ed by all present. REV. F. H. PRICE WEDS MISS MAMIE HELMS. The following item from last week's Xorth Carolina Christian Advocate will be of interest to many Gazette readers, as Mr. Price was formerly assistant pas tor of Main Street Methodist church here : "Rev. F. H. Price, junior pastor on the Lowesville circuit, and son of Mr. D. A. Priee, of Fnionville, was married to Miss Amy Helms, daughter of Mr. T. L. A. Helms, of the same place on Saturday, May 17. The ceremony was performed by Rev. T. J. Huggins, pastor of the Un ionville charge." OLD TIME SINGING AND ICE CREAM SUPPER. There will be an old-time singing and ice cream supper on Saturday night, June 7th, at the Second Gastonia A. R. P. the Gastonia Chapter 1. I day afternoon on the porch Wilson's colonial home on I enue, with Mrs. F. E. Wilson presiding. ! The state of Mississippi was also taken j up for round-table discussion. The set i ting for this occasion was an ideal one, the beautiful magnolia trees on the lawn j forming a part of the background, the magnolia tlowar being the state flower off Mississippi. Immense bowls of magno lia were j. laced here and there on the porch, and the Confederate flags waved their silken folds above the picture of Jefferson Davis. The following program was rendered : Subject, Mississippi"; piano duet, Virginia and Rachel Henderlite; prayer, by the chaplain; vocal solo, Miss Ruth Mason; minutes, by the secretary; pre sentation of state iiistorian, Miss Lowry Shuford; introduction of subject, Chap ter Historian and Chapter Essay, "Three Confederate Generals from Mississippi Who Won Great Distinction in the War Between the States," Mrs. W. X. Pharr; "Representative Women of Mississip pi." Mrs. W. C. Barrett. Vocal solo, "Mississippi," Mrs. J. M. Holland; dis cussion, "A Few First Things of Missis sippi,'' chapter. Announcements; Star Spangle.' Banner; social hour. After this delightful program was rendered, which was one of the best the chapter has had, punch was served on the other end of the porch by Mesdames Geo. Patterson, Will Warren, W. T. Love and Miss Lowry Shuford. The following out-of-town ladies were present: Mrs. W. J. Francis, Belmont, Mrs. W. B. Puett. Belmont, Miss Melia bel Crawford, Belmont, these being mem bers of U. D. C.
