Misses Pearl and Ruth Linebcrger and Messrs. Williams Crawford and Andrew Gullick formed a Charlotte theatre party Monday night. Mrs. R. V. Young, who has been sick for some time, has not improved and so was taken to the hospital in Charlotte Tuesday afternoon. Her many friends trust she will be much benefitted by the treatment there. Little Miss Kleanor Elmore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Elmore, who has been ill with malaria fever is much bet ter. Mr. and Mrs. I). K. Hall, of Newport News, Va., are visiting the former's par ents, Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Hall, in the country. Mr. Clyde Hager was confined to hie home by illness Tuesday. Currence, of Gastonia, has bought the business property of Mr. G. B. Stowe on South Main street. He experts to build a mercantile establishment there in the near future. Messrs. Frank and Walter Hall spent Sunday at home returning to their studies at Davidson on Mondav. J. H.
