Women of Faison Church in Meeting Members of the Faison Presby terian church met Monday after noon at the church, with Mrs. George Cates presiding. Mrs. W. T. Hines and Mrs. J. E. Faison, delegates to the district conference in Warsaw, reported on the conference meeting, after which Mrs. Z. A. Gibson led the devotion al, using as her subject, “When Emotions Overwhelm.” Mrs. A. R. Hicks, Jr., presented the program on “What Does the Presbyterian Church Believe?” Mrs. J. B. Stroud, Jr., Mrs. A. H. Witherington, Mrs. Gene Bowman, and Mrs. A. M. Davis were'host esses for the meeting. A few more weeks now and some parents will pack up their troubles and send them off to summer camp. Will Give Pictures Of Confederate Leaders The Confederate Greys chapter, United Daughters of the Confeder acy, will present pictures of Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson to the Clementary school Wednesday afternoon 2 o’clock. These pictures are reproductions of oil paintings hanging in the Corcaron Art gallery in Washing ton, D. C. Presentation speaker will be Charles O. Whitley, local attorney. > The public is invited to attend the presentation service. Miller Home Club Meets Last Week The Miller Home Demonstration dub met last week with Mrs. John Miller near Beulaville. A demonstration on “Framing Pictures for the Home” was given by Mrs. Blan Rhodes, house furnish ing leader. Mrs. Rhodes said pic tures should be selected with the same care as clothing, furniture and other household items. Mrs. Miller, community service leader, urged women to help with community activities. The group then discussed care of baby chicks. Mrs. Flave Mercer led the devo tional. During the business session the president, Mrs. Frank Rhodes, urg ed all members to attend the dis trict meeting to be held in Ken ansville April 14. Refreshments were served during the social hour. PATRICK MILLARD A number of young people from Salem attended the Youth For Christ rally at Indian Springs Methodist church Saturday might: The banner was given to Salem for having the largest attendance from '.any of the churches. . The next ra} !ysis scheduled- to be held in April at Mount Allen college. We would like to see more of the churches participate in, these Youth For Christ rallies. The Youth Fellowship of Loyal Workers met at the church Sunday evening at 6:30. The program con sisted of very interesting talks giv en by Josephine Hatch and Doro thy , Holloman. This was followed by an inspiring Mission program given by the W. H. & F. M. socie ty at 7:30. The Rev. Mr. Joyner reported ed a .very enjoyable time at the Ministers’ meeting and luncheon held at Rusty’s Grill Monday at 12:30 p.m. Our Spring revival will begin at Salem on April 18 and continue through April 22.
