McLauch lin and Mrs. Sarah McFadyen, who spent the summer at Mon- treat, are now at home. McLeod has been at Highamfth’s hospital in Fay etteville for an operation for ap pendicitis, and is getting along nicely we are glad to learn. Mr. Bruce Morris recently spent ten days in the Fairmont section of Robeson county, and he says the farmers down there are in a most prosperous condi tion; they produced good crops of tobacco ^and‘ received very high prices for it, and they also have fine cotton crops. * Mrs. Mary Roberts had a let ter from her son, Mr. Chandler Roberts, who is with the Ameri can engineers’ corps in France, and is getting along all right. Mr. Roberts is a Shnner, and is on a committee which, calls to* gether the first Shriners’ con vention ever held in that city, or part of France where he ia located. F"
