Who is to be judge? We see that the State Auditor’s report shows that the yrage rom- mission has saved the State near ly $200,000. But thev didn’t cut the salaries of any of these highups. -,If we could get along without more terms ofSuperior court after we have abolished the Recorder’s court, we would curtail expenses somewhat; but if the abolition of this county court will caufeeto be added two or four weeks of Su perior court, why, that will_ cost more, and we will not' save by it. / U: Pr»5 The lawyers have a way of do ing business that is expensive, but they think thev must. They will contend and contend no matter how much, it costs the taxpayers- We would reform them if we could. Guess the City Fathers know, but these people who pav for that building, and -who are out of work at this time, think they should have been al lowed to build it. I 1 • Mr. John Dee Robinson is at nome, and his condition is some what improved, we are glad to know. Mr. Quick at Dundarrach is quite sick. His Sunday school at Sandy Grove wishes for his speedy recovery. - Rev. J. J. Boone of Parkton delivered a very inspiring ser mon Sunday afternoon at Sandy Grove. He is well appreciated •by his charge Mr. J. R. Jones was laid rest Tuesday aftornoon at Sandy Grove by a large crowd of rela fives and friends. The hot house flowers were the best languagi to speak his worthiness. Th Sunday school that he served faithful for about fifteen year put a large wreath of lilies and while carnations on his grave The church holds a vacancy b.v his leaving. But his gobdness and endeavor are not dead. His footprints on the sands of time ever enlarge. The musical entertainment to be at Mildouson Thursday night is hoped to be a success. Every body is cordially invited to at tend. The proceeds is to help with the school library. Yearby presided. - Devotional was conducted by A. D. Cars well. Rev. Yeaaby made a report ■ with reference to the work at the Cotton Mill. It was ar ranged for the following minis ters to hold one Sunday after noon service in each month at the Cotton Mill. G H. Weaver the first Sunday afternoon, N, C. Yearby the second, W. M. Fairley the third and J E. Hoyle the fourth. A Union Evangelistic Service for Raeford was given careful consideration It was proposed if the right man can be found to hold a union service that will last foB ten days or two weeks. Rev. J E. Hovle was appointed to write Rev Ohas. Greaves, to s? e if he couid secure his service dur ing the summer or fall months. Hev. N. C. Yearby was appoint ed to communicate with Rev. A. L.
