Besides his business con nections, Mr. Lambeth "is interested with ihis father in the operation of the Cedar Lodge farm, perhaps the largest farm in the 'county. Before announcing his candidacy, Mr. Lambeth stated that he had made a careful survey of the dis trict and had been tendered many pledges of support. County Board Of Elections Appointed The Stiaite Board of Elections, m'eet- ing in Raleigh last Saturday .ap pointed the following to constitute the Hoke County Board of Elections: Democrats, J S. Johnson and Ryan McBryde; Republican, B .1.. Cox. While it is not definitely known, it is t^ssumed that all of these will .seive. This board appoints the reg- i.strars and poll holders in the various precincts, canvasses the election re turns. provides ballots and attends to all of the r.outine of holdijig both the primary on June 7th. and the gen eral election in November. Lacy, president of Union Theological Seminary, ac cepting an invitation to preiach the commencement sermon at the Rae ford high .school commencement this year. Dr. Lacy is a son of the late B. R. Lacy, who was for a long number of years treasurer of this State. He inside an enviable reputa tion as a chaplain in the World war and was nick-nam^ the Fighting Parson!.
