This wab one of the most enjoyable after noon parties of the Fall. It was given at the Upchurch home which was elaborately and tastefully decorated for the occasion. Flowers and plants and red candles suggestive of the approaching Christmas season form ed . the scheriie of the decorations. These decorations were effectively usdd in the living room, mrisic room, and dining room. There were six tables of those playing , bridge and four of those playing rook. Score pads, tallies and table, markers car ried out the Christmas idea. Those winning prizes in bridge were Mrs. John Walker high score prize and Mra. Benton Thomas low 'score prize. Mesdames J. C. Thomas and C. W. Seate were holders of high gnd low scores in rook. A delicious salad course followed by fruit cake was served. There were a number of out-of-town guests present.. These were Miss Kelly, of Hlghsmith Hospital, Fayetteville. Misses Sarah Currie, Hayden and U. D. C. HOLDS REGULAR' MEETING WEDNESDAY The Raeford Chapter of the U. D.
