Under an agreement which has teen worked out by Aubrey Williams, National Youth Administrator, and the -noted conductor, state and local offices of the«National Youth Ad- muiistration will receive applications from talented young musicians and arrange for the preliminary auditions, to which five of the best musicians in each state will be selected. Mr. Stokowski himself will make a nation-wide tour starting March 4 from Hollywood to conduct the final 'auditions, in which he wiU select the 100 members of the orchestra. Thia orchestra of “musical ambas sadors” will make a tour of cities in Canada, Mexico and the United States, starting in May. The great interest- aroused in the musical talents of young people through OTA recruitment of the first Stokowski youth orchestra last win ter, and the success of the orch estra’s tour of Latin-American cities.
