Barley, oats and wheat can be fed to livestock satisfactorily. Ihese crops grow on land during the months of heaviest rainfall and reduce ero sion that usually carries away plant food. For grain, farmers should plant good seed of known variety. The va rieties of barley that should be plant ed are Iredell 23, Tennessee No. 6 or Sunrise. Tte Kiotographers’ Club, a new organi zation, has elected ^ following of ficers: manager, Arthur D. Gore, Jr.; secretary, George White; treasurer, Edith Saunders. Miss Blanriie Fisher and Miss Annie Lou Kendrick are the advisors for this club. The Dramatic Club elected the fol lowing officers at the second meeting of the year Monday morning: presi dent, Louise Smith; vice-president, B. B. Cole, Jr.; secretary-treasurer, Martha Harris, and program chair man, Franis Shoaf. The Beta Club of Hoke High School met Tuesday morning and elected of ficers for the year. They are: Bennie Lee McGougan, vice-president; Gil bert Lilly, treasurer; and Allyene Smith, reporter. Margaret Poole and Marjorie Johnson Roberts were chos en president* and secretary, respec tively, by the club at the close of sdhool last spring. The Beta Club members elected last year are: Janice Perry, Margaret Poole, Emogene Sinclair and Mar jorie Johnson Roberts, The new members are: Faye Baker, Betsy Ann Cole, Cora Lee Crouch, Leonora Ciw- rie, Christine Hodgin, Jacqueline Hodgin, Riley Jordan, Gilbert Lilly, Geraldine Maxwell, Hazel Grey Mc Farland, Bennie Lee McGougan, Bet ty Lou McGregor, Allyene Smith and Polly Talley. The Beta Club is a national organ ization of high school students of superior mentality and character.
