Just between us, we're behind on our purchases of Bonds during this 3rd WAR LOAN and we don't think you want to be in this sort of company. Hoke County has al ways met each quota for bonds, each quota for the Red Cross, each quota for the U S O in fact we can't remem ber any kind of war or humanitarian pur pose in which we haven't met our obliga tions In this drive we are asked to lend Uncle Sam $209,000 We have bought, through Wednesday, exactly $180,000 We are behind, as you can see, just $29,000 We have only until Saturday to buy enough more Bonds to reach our goal. Won't you dig a little deeper for those boys, our own boys, and those from other American homes who are out yonder on the battlefield giving their all, their lives if need be, that these things we have may retain their value and their use to us.
