The wife of one said she never believed any. thing her husband told her until she heard it from some other source. People used to raise chickens on a different basis from that now used They allowed their hens to raise fam ilies. Some chickens on father's place went wild; I hunted and shot them. I have an idea beetrees are scarce, but there are some in the woods for they left Raeford without telling their folks goodbye. They swarmed and pitched, but refused to occupy the gum provided for them. They pitched on limb of a tree, made honeycomb, but lett that when they went away.
