The demonstration at the meetings was "No Space to Waste" or storage In the homes. Blue prints and pic tures of various storage spaces for every house were shown and dis cussei. A miniature cabinet was taken to the meetings and several types of shelves etc., placed In it to sjiow how it might be used in dif ferent rooms in the house. The home agent attended the Lum bee River Electric Membership cor peration meeting ani the directors luncheon which was held in Raeford on November 1. The Rev. H. K. Holland of Raeford brought a splendid mes sage on "Democracy in the Home." The Hoke High school band gave a short concert at the beginning of the program. Reports were given from the various clubs. Mrs. Audrey Conk, of the Hoke High school facul ty, gave several readings. Mrs. P. P. McCain discussed the Sixth War Loan Drive; Mrs. H. A. Cameron talked on the Red Cross work and Mr. K. A. MacDonald gave a short report on plans for the library for next year. The Wayside club won $5.00 in war stamps for having the largest at tendance. Several club reports were given in the for.n of skits or dia logues. The home agent attended a meet ing of the County Nutrition Com mittee which was held in her of fice on the evening of November 15. She also attended a meeting of the Red Cross Camp and Hospital coun cil on the afternoon of November 15. Five 4-H Clubs met in November with 93 club girls attending. As November was Annual Report .ronth, several days during the week of November 21 to 28 were spent in the office compiling statistical and narrative reports. Several meat canning demonstra tions were given during the month; Six new aluminum pressure cook ers were ordered and received; and 44 library books were checked out at club meetings. Miss Josephine Hall, Home Agent O Reopening of about 180 cotton mills in Britain which were forced to close in 1941, is being arranged by a com mittee, and it estimated 40,000 work ers will be employed.
