A senate-house inquiry committee today is studying a set of suggested rules calling for a wide open investigation of the Pearl Harbor disaster. A draft of proposed .procedure, sub mitted to the committee last week by William' D. Mitchell, its counsel, was ordered rewritten. But members said these main-points probably will be retained: 1. All evidence will be submitted at public hearings, where testimony will be unde oath. 2. Any evidence the committee thinks has "probative force" that Is, proves a point will be heard. 3. No personalwatorney for a wit ness or government represents I ve can object to questions by commit tee members or counse nor interrupt questioning. But attorneys for wit nesses can question them for the record after the committee gets through. 4. The state, war and navy de partments will be given an oppor tunity to present any additional evi dence they have after the commit tee completes its general testimony. o Firescreens should fit snugly at top as well as sides. Cramp, Recruiting and Inducting Officer, U. S. Army Recruiting Sub-Station, Rockingham, District No. 2, Fourth Service Com mand, announced today the opening of an Army Recruiting station, locat ed n the post office building. S-Sgt. Victor Hugall with Sgts. Roman and Kraus and Cpl. William Castor on the staff complete the re cruiting team. I Lt. Cramp said yesterday that men j enlisting in the Regular Army may have their choice of the arm of ser- 1 vice in which they served during the war. Men between the ages of ; 18 and 34 who are physically quali fied may also pick their favorite I arm or service. Overseas theatre assignments will be given those who -desire such service in the theatre of thir choice i The men reenlisting or enlisting will be the guardian of Victory for i which our men fought and died, Lt.
