C. under Act of March 3, 1870 Personals MISS WILLIAMSON HOSTESS AT PARTY Miss Marie Williamson was hostess at a party last Thurday evening, given in honor of her houseguest, Miss Gladys Wells of San ford, Florida, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Williamson, on the Red Springs road. Twenty of Miss William son's high school friends were guests. An enjoyable evening was spent playing various games and dancing, during which time refresh ments of punch and cookies were served. ! George Bethune of Con cord spent the week end at home. Accompanying him from Concord were Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Freeman, who were week end guests at his home. Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Mc Phaul are now living in the apartment at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Mc Bryde. Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Sanders had as their guests last week Mr. and Mrs. Alton S. Lan caster of Oriental. Miss Polly Baker, who re cently underwent an ap pendectomy at the Piedmont Memorial hospital in Greens boro, is spending a while in the home of Mrs. Noni: Chappell. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Keith of Lumberton spent the week end at the home of Mr. Keith's parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Keith. Misses Louise and Nick Bevan and Mrs. Herbert C. Bevan spent last Monday in Greensboro. Mrs. Ed Fuller of Liberty is visiting her brother, John McKay Blue. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Falls of Gastonia are visiting their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Up church, Jr. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Gat lin, H. L., Jr., Robert and Marion Gatlin and their fa milies attended a reunion of the Privett family at La mar, S. C, yesterday. Miss Jane Leach has re turned to Pinehurst after spending several days at the home of her brother, F. G. Leach, and Mrs. Ruria Shelton of Antioch. Miss Tish Hodgin is spen ding her vacation with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Hodgin of Antioch. She will return to Washington, D. C. August 1st. Mrs. Bessie Clark is spen ding some time with her sis ter, Air. J. F. Chaev, in Long Branch, N. J. Mr. and Mrs. M. T. Poovey and guests, Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Poovey and son, Bobby, of Mooresville,' spent the past week end at White Lake. Mr. Poovey returned to Mooresville Sunday, while his wife and son remained to spend this week. Miss Bonnie Kate Blue left yesterday for Myrtle Beach where she will be the guest of a friend for the next week. Fannie and Louie Brooks of Marion, S. C, are guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Mr. and Mrs. Neill Cole and daughter cf Sanford were guests in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Cole and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Cole last Sunday. Sgt. M. L. Wood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Wood of Rockfish, left this week for Seattle, Wash., after spending the past two weeks with his parents. Sgt. Wood has re-enlisted and will sail soon for Alaska. Iris Thomas, Sarah Jane Cole, Betty and Mary Sue Upchurch and Billy Trawick attended Methodist Youth camp at Camp Forest, S. C. last week. T-Sgt. C. A. Wade of Camp Lee, Va., spent the week end at home with his family. Urs. W. M. Sessoms has been a patient at Highsmith hospital since Sunday. Mrs. W. A. Crowley re turned home Tuesday from Highsmith hospital where she was a patient the past week. Mr. and Mrs. M. A. Rob ertson of Ashley Heights an nounce the birth of a daugh ter on July 10, at Moore County hospital. J. G. Webb of St. Pauls, spent the week end at the home of his sister, Mrs. Ri ley Willis.
