The married sons and their families were Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Mclnnis and children, Campbell and Alice, of Wagram, Three years ago Ed Smith’s lack went bad. His crops failed, and it wasn’t long before Ed’s home and fomishings were ^ fw^ aoetion. Half the town tnmed out, and Ed must have thought his neigh bors were a bnnch of hungry vul- tores—buying up all his precious possessions for a song. When it was over, and the sue- timeer had lef^ Sam Abernathy turns to the crowd and says: ’’All right, folks, let’s take time out for a glass M beer, and then put this stuff back where it belongs!” Two hours later, Ed was in pos session of his home and furnish ings; and the folks who’d'^^d for them were sitting around Ira’s fire enjoying a neighborly glass of beer —^to show their friendship and their confidence in Ed. Today, Ed’s back on to feet—an other constructive member of the community. And from where I sit, we’ve all been well repaid—a good investment in a good iwen. O lM7^ UNITED STATES BREWERS FOUNDATION.
