Rev. W. B. Heyward, pastor of the
Raeford Presbyterian church, us
ing the doutole ring ceremony. A
program of nuptial music was
preseiited by Miss Alice Walker,
organist, and Mrs. H. W; McPhaul,
violinist. ’
The bride, who was given in
marriage by her father, wore a
gown of white slipper satin and
fingertip veil of imported bridal
illusion. She carried a prayer
book with a white orchid and
streamers of satip. ribbon.
The maton of nbnop;, Mrs. Hpr-
old E. Stone of Falls Church, Va.,
sister of the bride, wore light blue
taffeta and a draped net beret.
She carried a nosegayjjof mixed
flowers.
Mary Eloise Roberts of Raeford,
cousin of the bride, was flower
girl. She 'wore a dress. of white
^organza and carried a white bas
ket filled with pastel flowers.
Harold E. Stone, Jr., ring bearer,
carried the ring in the heart of

Immediately following the cere
mony the bribe’s parents enter
tained at a reception at their
^ome, which was beautifully de
corated for the occasion.
The couple left for a wedding
trip at Wrigbtsville Beach after
which tl^y will make their home
at Fort M(^herson, ; Ga.,^
Capt. Hoba^ls' 'stationed.
After graduation from Hoke
High school Mrs. Hood attended
school at Louisburg college. For
the past 3 1-2 years she has been
employed at Fort Bragg.
Capt. Hood was graduated from
the University of Alabama Medi
cal School and finished his med
ical training at the University of
Pennsylvania.
Bringing to a close the many
social courtesies shown Miss Jen
nie Warren before her marriage
to" Capt. Willis -Samuel Hood was
the cake-cutting given by • Mr.
and Mrs. Chandler Roberts, after
the rehearsal on the evening pre
ceding the wedding.
After the bride and groom cut
the traditional first piece from a
three tiered wedding cake, punch,
cake, salted nuts and mints Were
served, to those present. Assist
ing Mrs. Roberts in this hospi
tality were: Mrs. M. B. Warren,
mother of the bride, Mr. and Mrs.
Robert Gatlin, Mrs. R. A. Math-
eson, Mrs. Billie Parnell, Misses
Kathryn Cobb, Alice Sutton Math-

Following the meeting of the
Woman’s Auxiliary of the Raeford
Presbyterian church on July 21,
an informal tea was given in the
undercroft of the church, honoring
Miss Alice Walker, director of
religious education and music in
the church. Receiving at the door
were circle chairmen and those
in the deceiving line with Miss
Walker were the general officers
of |the Auxiliary. Refreshments
were served by Mrs. J. L. Mc
Neill, secrefary of social activities,
and her assistants.
