r \ CHAMINAPE MUSIC CLUB RESUMES MEETINGS The Chaminade MuSic club re sumed its meetings at the home of Mrs. R. B. Lewis Tuesday even ing ■ of this week.' Mrs. Alfred Cole and Mrs. Arab Stuart were hostesses with Mis. Lewis, velcor ""he club welcomed two new members, Miss Alice Walker and Miss Blanche Owen. Mrs. W. B. McLauchlin was program leader and presented the following prbgram: Federation hymn and Collect by the clhb; Paper, “Life of Chaminade” by Mrs. Frank Williams; Piano solo, “Autumn of Chaminade” by Mrs W. T. Covington; Vocal solo, “El- egie”, Massenet, By Mrs. A.. K. Currie; “Carmena” Lane Wilson By Mrs.'^R. B. Lewis, Mrs. H. R. McLean, Mrs. T. B. .Lester, Jr., Mrs. W. M. Mr. and Mrs. Carlton Niven sp,ent the week end in Roxboro. They went especially to attend the Gentry reunion. Miss Leonora Currie left Wed nesday to enter her senior year at the University of North Caro lina. Miss Currie will b'e student advisor there this year. 10 Mrs. Hector McNeill, Sr. was hostess to the John Charles Mc Neill book club on Tuesday after noon when she entertained at heir home in the country. Guests other than cluib mem'bers were Mrs. R. A. Matheson, Mrs. L. B. Sutton, Mrs. Hector McNeill, Jr., Mrs. Jack Roper and Mrs. Smiley Roper. Mrs. Sydney Smith of Wagram had charge of the 'program. After a short business meeting five tables of rook were in play. Mrs. Zeb Wooley was awarded high score prize and 'Mrs. Sutton cap tured ■ the floating prize. Mrs; McNeill served a delicious chickdn salad ■ plate after the game. 0 The Presbyterian auxiliary meeting will be held in the church parlor on Monday evening,'• Sep tember 22, at 7:45. Raeford Methodist Church- is 'Planning a Veteran’s Recognition Service for the fourth Sunday in October, a service in honor of the men and ■vyomen who served in World War II.
