ENTERTAIN FOR MRS. ODOM, RECENT BRIDE "■'S f Miss Kaye Odom and Mrs. Car ol O. Mawbey entertained at their home Wednesday evening of last week at 7:30 o’clock, with a ,din ner party, honoring their sister- in-law, Mrs. Charles E. Odom fomeriy Miss«Theima Cozart of Roekwell,-'N. C. The hdme was lovely with au tumn flowers. Upon arrival guests were met by the hostesses and invited into the living room where tables were arranged and centered with pas tel «flowers and. burning tapers. Places were marked by dainty place cards. ^ A delicious chicken dinner was served in courses by the hostess es assisted by their mother, IMrs. C. Odom, and Mrs. Neil Sien- ter. After dinner brides-bigo was was played and each winner; re ceived an , attractive prize. The hbnoree was presented, a gift of .lovely crystal candle holders. Mrs. Sylv^ S. Ash, recent bride, was remembered with a gift, Miss Ka^een Campbell, whose marriage takes place November 9 was presented a gift of crystal in her chosen pattern and Miss Hazel Grey MIcFarland, who left this week, for West Palm Beach, Horida, was also given a gift. C. J. Benner, with Mrs. Pickier serving as joint hostess. After a short business meeting officers for the coming year were installed, with Mrs. J. D. Whis- nant presiding. The class enjoyed a social hour during which time the hostesses served a delectable siweet course. 0 Miss Margie Campbell j left yes terday .to resume her duties of teaching at Qhina Grove, after spending the past week here. The schools at^ China Grove were closed on account of Polio. MISS McFarland HONOREE Mis3 Hazel Grey McFarland, who left this week for West Palm Beach, Florida, where she has ac cepted a position, was honoree at a party given by Miss Kitty Buoyer, at her home on Monday evening of this week. All hour of informal conversa tion was ''enjoyed during which tinie the hostess served delicious refreshments. ’ Miss McFarland was presented an attractive gift.
