RAY — McNEILL ^Ir. and Mrs. C. J. McNeill, Sr. announce the marriage of their daughter,' Frances Jean -to James Robert Ray, son of Mrs. Margaret Gillis Ray anid the late IVIr. Ray of Rockfish, Saturday, Novem ber 15, at Siler City. The Rev. C. ■L. Ousby performed the cere mony. The bride wore a street dress of grey with a gold choker and ’’black accessories. She is a grad uate of Hoke County High school and attended Louisburg college. Mr. Ray (has been employed at the Fayetteville Supply Company since his.;separation from the ser vice in 1945. Odom of Lexington, Va. spent the week end in the home of his brother, W. C. Odom.'Miss Katie Raye Odom accompanied im home to spend this week. C., was the reader. Miss Jessie Bright Ferguson accompanist and Mrs. Clyde Upchurch, director. The cantata included many of the well loved Christmas Hymns and carols. It was well received by a large and appreciative audience. PRESBYTERIAN At the Presbyterian church at 5 o’clock in the afternoon the ^combined junior and senior choirs of the church presented the can tata, “The Shepherd’s Ohristmas”, by Luvaas. The preductipn was under the direction of Miss Alice Walker. At this service the an nual “Joy Gift” offering for aged ministers was taken. - ' 0-^ Mrs. A. J. C. — Phone 5161 METHODIST At 7:30 o’clock Sunday even ing a beautiful cantata was giv en at ,the Methodist church. “The Story of Christmas According To The’ Scripture” by Ella J. Lorenz, was sung by the church choir as sisted by voices from the other two churches and by the punior choir assisted by girls from the Baptist junior choir. The setting was appropriate and- dignified. White gladioli in baskets with ferns and many lighted tapers were used on the rostrum and a bank of palms just in front. Solo parts were taken by Rob ert Gatlin and Martin McKeiithan, Mrs. R. B. Lewis, Mrs. W. R. Barrington,, Mrs. Thomas Mc Lauchlin, ‘ Miss Elsie Upchurch and Miss Mary Raye Freeman. Rev. W. L.
