Training Able-bodied veterans have no monopoly on institutional on- farm training. A World War II veteran with a service-connected ailment can take this training, too, according to the Veterans Administration, if VA considers the training nec essary for him to overcome his handicap. In fact, he may get training for as long as is necesr- sary to restore his ability to work, up to a totaLof four years. Unlike able-bodied veterans who apply at the school in their community approved for on-farm training, disabled veterans should apply for this training at their nearest VA office. They should take along a certified or photo- static copy of their discharge papers. If they are married or have dependents, they should bring marriage certificate and other documents that will es tablish their dependency claims. Before they begin institutionaf on-farm training, disabled vete rans are interviewed by VA coun selors who help them decide on the type of training they should take.
