Thursday—Prayer j meeting. ^ THE OF THE CROSS The Cross of Christ has survived the ages. It .has stood the test of time; it has weathered the storms of ad- versity and oppression — always tri umphantly. This gives men hope. For life/ travels in a strange cyclic pattern of births and deaths. Little in human re lations is intelligible, little shows prog ress. Nations, rise and fall, battles are fought and won, only to be reenacted time and time again across the stage of history until the whole scheme of life seems meaningless and futile. But always there is the Cross! Whether it be of massive stone or deli- cate gold and silver, still it gives, men that courage and purpose which are so necessary for successful living in this perplexing world. You can find this strength of the Cross in your church. Plan to attend worship services next Sunday, and bring your family and friends.
