R. Barrington, Mrs. A. K. Currie, Mrs. R. B. Lewis, Mrs. H. R. McLean, Mrs. Fred Culbreth, Mrs. W. M. Thomts Miss Josephine Hall and Miss Alice Walker. The program consisted of a vocal solo by Mrs. Barringtoh, two piano selections by Miss Walker and several songs by the sextette. 'Under the leaderehip of Mrs. W. M. Thdmas, -president of the Chaminade Music club, the club has aphieved this year aerating 100 per cent. This broadcast and the program at the Veterans Hospi tal op Sunday night completed the 100 per cent rating. This is the firs}* time in several years that the club has received tiiis rating. 0 MRS. They Mrs. Mary Avent of Sanford, who is visiting in the home of her daughter, Mrs, Harvey Cole, was honored at a* dinner at the Cole home Sunday, in celebration of her 80th birthday. Odom was stricken with a severe illness Sunday, just as she and Mr. Odom were leav ing to go out of town for the day. Her condition continues serious. , Miss Mildred Oliver of Pine Level is visiting her sister, Mrs. Walter P. Baker. Myrle Jo, daughter of Sgt. and Mrs. Paul Burnett, celebrated her third birthday yesterday with a party given at the home of her parents. Around 20 little girls and boys were present and enjoy ed games, after which they were served ice cream and cake. 0 Miss Phyllis Baker of Coker college was accompanied to Rae- ford ■ for the week end by her room mate. Miss Mary Anne Rhyne, of Washington, D. C. George Wood of Hertford was a guest in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Gulledge over the week end and several days the first of the- week. Miss Frances Prevatte, who is a graduate of the Westminister choir, is visiting in the home of her aunt, Mrs. J. C. McLean. Miss Prevatte sang at the High school yesterday during the chapel hour. Wolrd . has been received by Mrs. Arab Stuart that her daugh ter, Mrs. Lewis Hart, Jr., arrived safely at Okinawa. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Cole spent Simdgy at Carolina Beach. H. B. Terrell, who has been with the Home Food Market here for the past five years, has ac cepted a. position with the Davis Store in Fayetteville. For the time being 'Mr. and Mrs. Terrell will continue to live in Hoke County. Dr. and Mrs. A. M. Cornwell- of LincOlnton were guests of Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Warlick last Fri day. Graham McFadyen, who re turned to ^he United States a- botit two months ago from China, where he has been with the Stand ard Oil Company for the past three years, arrived in Raeford Simday to spend several days with his aunt, Mrs J.
