Arthur Graham of Cheraw assisting. -b Hope Mills Voters Approve Bond Issues V’oters of Hope Mills went to the polls yesterday and by an overwhelming majority approved the construction of a water and sewer sjrstem for the bustling little industrial city. Of 312 persons registered 222 voted for the water system and 221 for the sewer system. Thirty voted against each proposition. The vote, the largest in the his. tory of Hope Mills, authorized the issuance of $110,000 bonds for the job. He was recently called to be pastor of Tabernacle Baptist church at Rockfish, and there upon requested that Spring Lake church proceed with arrangements for his ordination. The Rev. F. A. Harris, retired Baptist minister and a member of Spring Lake church, delivered the double charge to the candidate and his church, while the Rev J. V. Watterson delivered ;the ordi nation prayer. T. B. Miller, fath er of the candidate, presented the Bible to him. while the Rev. Harry F. Bean, pastor of Spring Lake church, delivered the ordination sermon. Benediction- was pro nounced by the newly ordained minister at the close of the ser vice. Invocation was by the Rev. E. N. Teague, former pastor of the Spring Lake church.
