Melynit. ;.^ it ; *■ '/-•■■'vrMi I,.;’- THE NKWSaOUSNAL I' A large and appreciative audi ence heard the Bailey Brothers and the Happy Valley Quartet of W^F, Raleigh, at Rockfish school avfditorium Monday night. ^ This show was sponsored by the Home Demonstration club tor the benefit of the club. It was a good clean entertainment and can be recom mended for such purposes. The club women also sold a quilt they had made. All told they realized about $50.00 for the club. The marriage of ^ Miss Betty Baker of Raeford and Donald Wood was very much of a sur prise to many of their friends at Rockfish. We wish for them a long and happy life. Fred does, and we hope no acci dents happen any more. Last week we neglected to men tion that Fred English who is in school at Morganton, broke his collar bone while playing football recently. He had just recoverel from a fracture sustained while playing baU. Anyway we guess he wiU be playing again before long. A little accident like that is not enough to stop a boy from playing who likes football as The Wayside. Grange has ac cepted on invitation to meet with the Home Demonstration club for a Christmas party next Wednes day night. Everyone is to carry a simple present some thing made or grown on the farm, and a small amount of fruit, nuts and candy. There will be a prize given for the “tackiesV’ dressed person at this party, so don your outfit that you consider “tacky” and see if you ,can’t win the prize. Everybody is going to dress this way and we expect to have lots cf fun imless the weather decides to cut another unusual caper.
