PROGRESSIVE STORE IS UNDER NEW MANAGER Weevil Survey Shows Poison Is Good Investment The Weekly Cotton Insect Sur vey for July 10 shows an aver age infestation of 3 percent in treated fields and 23 percent in fields which have not been poison ed this year, according to E. M. Stallings,; County Agent. The Farm Agent makes the following observations and recom mendations: A small amount of boll worm damage was seen in most fields. These worms can usually be held in check with reegular cotton dust. If cases occur where the boll worm continues to build up— either use 15 lbs. cotton dust per acre or two applications of 10 per cent DDT dust at the rate of 10 lbs! per acre 5 days apart. It would be advisable to con tinue making inspections and counts of boll weevil damage in individual fields. Additional treatments should be made 7 io 10 percent.
