Pat Mclnnis of the Mildouson club, Joan Kin" and oning. A bountiful dinner of fried chicken, candied yams, English peas, tossed salad and hot home made rolls was set before us. Neediest t- say, the guests did awful justice to the dinner. While dessert was being served, the Glee Club sang several numbers that made a splendid impression on the guests. Not only were the Home Economics folks good cooks, but the Glee Club mem bers were good singers. After the meal the guests were shown the formal garden that is being developed by the vocational department and were conducted through the new grammar grade building. Daily BISCUIT MAKERS Carol Everleigh of the Hoke High School club, Bobby Jean Culbreth of the Rockfish club, and Sarah Hargrove of the Rae ford Graded School club. In the County contest, Judy Almond re ceived first prize of $10.00, Carol Everleigh received $5.00 as 2nd place winner, and Bobby Jean Culbreth was declared 3rd place winner and received $1.00 as a with all they saw. We wish to -not only compli ment the students for their good work, but also, their teachers for the fine training they are giving their pupils. We should mention that the boys who are taking training in preparation for hotel work serv ed at the tables. They did an ex cellent job. Upchurch played its first base ball game of the season Tues day and defeated E. E. Smith high school 19-17. They were es pecially anxious to win this game as their former coach is now coaching at E. E. Smith. We will give their home game schedule next week. The County colored schools wish to sincerely thank McNair's Cleaners for the donation of clothes that they received re cently. These clothes have made it possible for quite a number of children to be kept in school. We appreciate this gift.
