The Rockfish Home Demonstra tion Club and the Arabia Club held their annual picnic at Fred die's Lake Wednesday with Ruri tans of Mildouson and Rockfish as their guests. The children of G. F. Koonce celebrated his birthday with him at Lakewood on Sunday, August 18. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Gene Kellette, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Johnson of Winston-Salem, Mr. and Mrs. Joe, Heakle and son of Welcome, Mr. and Mrs. Furman Martin and son. Franklin, of Fayetteville, Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Koonce and chil dren of Raeford, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Koonce and children and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Koonce and family. Mr. and Mrs. Norman Essick and children of Welcome, spent the week end with Mr. and Mrs. Herman Koonce. Miss Ellen Kate Koonce visited in Winston-Salem last week. Julia Essick of Wel come came home with her for a visit Katherine and Gordon Up church of Red Springs are spend ing this week with their aunt, Mrs. M. S. Gibson. last Sunday. There were around 100 present and the couple re ceived lots of useful and beauti ful gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Overton and Mr. and Mrs. Sam Overton of Dade City, Fla. are visiting Mr. and Mrs. Overton and other rela tives here this week. Rev. Paul Deaton and family visited his sister, Mrs. M. S. Gib son last Wednesday. Mrs. J. E. Bugg of Memphis, Tenn., Mrs. W. J. Deaton, Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Upchurch and Mrs. Frank Bounds of Red Springs were guests of Mrs. M. S. Gib son Monday. Mrs. Bill Kennedy of Fayette ville is spending this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Barbour. the National Guard at camp, spent last Sunday at home. Miss Zola Johnson of Boone and Miss Merle Johnson of Fay etteville were guests of their sis ter, Mrs. Paul Heath and family the past week end. Mrs. Alfred Quick of Bute vis ited Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Caddell over the past week end. Little Nita Sessoms is doing nicely at the home of her grand parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Ter rell, Route 2, after being a pat ient at Highsmith Hospital for some time. She will be with her mother, Mrs. Leo Parker, at their apartment in Raeford most of the time from now on. Arabia News By Kra. D. B. Traywlck Mrs. W. S.
